Motorcycle accidents often result in fatal or serious injuries. Motorcyclists simply do not have the same amount of protection that people riding in cars have.
Because of the lower visibility profile, drivers in cars who are not paying attention to the roadway as they should will frequently change lanes and hit the motorcyclist or pull out directly in front of an oncoming motorcyclist. Even when the motorcyclist is wearing protective helmets and gear, the motorcyclist is at a high risk of suffering:
- Death
- Traumatic Brain Injuries
- Broken bones
- Paralysis
- Spinal cord injuries
- Disfiguring injuries
